Lorena Poppe, Owner & Executive Director
Lorena has 28 years of experience in the field of disability services. Her educational background is in Business Administration. She spent 11 1/2 years as a disabilities advocate and 17 years in the service provider sector prior to opening Poppy's Promise. Lorena is passionate about working with kids and their families to achieve services that work for each family situation.
Lorena and her husband live north of Mandan with their teenage son, 3 dogs and 2 cats. They also have two adult children. In her spare time, Lorena enjoys going to her son's swim meets, gardening, reading and walking.
Amy Clemons, LSW, Program Director
Amy has over 10 years of experience working with children with disabilities. She has worked with pre-school and early elementary aged children for 5 years in the public school system and over 5 years in the service provider arena, to include 3 years as an Autism Program Coordinator. She excels in conducting Service Management/Program Coordinator functions and coordinating programs for children receiving services and supports. Amy's abilities to meet families where they are and practice acceptance of all situations are among her best professional qualities.
Melinda Retzer, Operations Director
Melinda has 10 years of experience working with organizations that provide services to people with disabilities. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Communication from the University of New Mexico which brings a wealth of knowledge to her position. Melinda excels at creating systems and maintaining efficient operations. Her hobbies include fishing, sailing, hiking, and spending time with her family.
